Fernweh is a documentary exploration of belonging to two places — Sweden and the United States — and the quiet ache that comes with it. Through photographs of everyday moments, shifting landscapes, and the spaces that hold memories, I trace the feeling of being rooted and uprooted at the same time. This work sits in the tension between presence and absence, capturing the longing for the place I’m not in and the fear of missing what unfolds without me. Fernweh is my attempt to map and bridge the distance between two worlds and to understand how a life can stretch across them without quite settling in one.
