Holy Land USA was built in the 1950s in Waterbury, Connecticut. It was a popular theme park with thousands of visitors each year. The attorney John Greco, inspired by the shrines in the Italian mountains of his childhood decided to build something similar in Waterbury, Connecticut. It was left to deteriorate after Greco’s death, but a group of enthusiasts have decided to renovate it. In 2019, the first annual Easter Mass was held. I photographed and wrote for American Trails Magazine.
